How To Help
Help us bring clean and safe housing to low-income, mentally ill veterans!
Home » How To Help
Poor mental health can impact on people’s daily life, relationships, social life, employment and finances, making life more challenging and stressful. These impacts may lead to wider issues such as substance misuse, isolation, poor physical health and homelessness. These factors can increase vulnerability to abuse and exploitation.
For those living with mental illness, daily life can present unique challenges. Simple tasks that others might take for granted, such as getting out of bed, going to work, or socializing with friends, can sometimes feel overwhelming. However, with the right support and treatment, many individuals find ways to manage their symptoms and lead fulfilling lives.
Newbridge Place does not receive any government funding and cannot bill Medicaid for its services. Our financial strategy is to continue seeking resources for this project from community organizations, foundations and individuals to continue our vital services. The residents of Newbridge Veterans Place don't come with sufficient income to pay for their care, so auxiliary finances are necessary. To sustain this program, we'll continue to improve our financial strategy, so we may more effectively and efficiently advance our mission into the future, thereby enhancing our ability to have a positive impact on the lives of our residents and the communities we serve.
Newbridge Veterans Place has been successful in achieving the goals set for this program for the past 8 years and intends to continue to do so.
Although program revenues cover almost half the program expenses, we are dependent on resourceful supplemental fundraising, including support from individuals and organizations, to provide vital services for our residents.
Newbridge Place brings value to the community that can be measured by the reduction of homelessness, hospitalization, and incarceration of an acutely vulnerable population, therefore, savings for local taxpayers.
We also bring value to our clients by supplying them with appropriate support and structure and providing the ability for them to achieve and maintain a high quality of life in a safe home environment, when family cannot provide for their needs.
